The King is Dead, Long Live the King! – Ryzen 3900X & Ryzen 3700X Review

This is the Gskill Royal RGB 3600MHz C16

The memory kit provided for the review is a 3600MHz kit from Gskill, it is their more flashy model labeled ‘Royal’ and the top RGB light diffusion bar is crystal clear and has a textured crystalline effect which helps give it a special sparkle when illuminated.

The kit is spec’d for 3600MHz, CL16-16-16-36 at 1.35VDIMM. with the new Ryzen 3000 IMC these should be Turnkey, and they were. Turn your rig on, enter BIOS and enable DOCP and it will set everything automatically to give you the faster infinity fabric and memory speed which gives a nice shot in the arm for performance.

Here you can see we received the shiny gold kit, the options for these are either Gold or shiny silver. Here you can also see the rough crystalline effect of the light diffusion bar.

Here, we snuck a quick shot of the Gskill Royal at work on the testbench during one of the long nights of benchmarking for this very review. I have to admit, while I may not be the biggest fan of RGB, these look seriously nice!
