Power, Thermals and Noise
For our thermal testing, we ran Gaming loads rather than a power virus type of load as this represents a far more realistic loading scenario for those looking to see what you can expect when gaming on your new RTX card.
We observed idle temps a bit higher than the RTX 2080 which is not really a surprise as it omits the full vapor chamber in favor of a much more cost effective heatpipe based fin array cooler. The dual axial fans still do a great job and the card tops out at 72.
Thermals while at max overclock are worth noting that with fans at auto only topped out at 76.
The fan noise for the RTX 2070 Founders edition is non existant. even when overclocking with fans at auto the fans never broke over 50-52% they simply were not needed and you would be hard-pressed to hear this card even in a near silent system.
