Borderlands 3 Prequel and Dragons Age Inquisition
For testing purposes we used high settings, with no AA, and a resolution of 1920 x 1080. We used FRAPS to monitor and record our frame rates of the two listed games. For Borderlands 3 Prequel, we turned on Nvidia Ageia Physics; since I have a AMD based video card (290) this would force the game to use more of the CPU for physics. On Dragons Age Inquisition, I used Direct X11 API, not AMDs Mantle.
Borderlands 3 Prequel
Starting my gaming testing, I wasn’t expecting much of a difference in frame rates, as most games these days are GPU limited not CPU limited. Looking at my results with Borderlands 3 and taking into consideration that I have Nvidia’s Physx enabled, having more CPU cores on the X99-UD4P does give me a bit better overall frame rate.
Dragon Age: Inquisition
On Dragon Age: Inquisition testing using only a Direct X 11 API, we were not expecting any real differences between the two tested platforms.
