The Kingston DataTraveler Locker+ 3G provides enforced password protection and if someone tries to hack your password after 10 tries the drive formats itself protecting your data against prying eyes. If you have enabled USB to Cloud the data the drive just formatted is safe and secure in your Cloud Storage and easily recoverable. The 256-bit AES encryption on your files will protect your data even if someone did find a way to bypass the security and retrieve the files.
The Read write speeds on the Kingston DataTraveler Locker+ 3G should more than satisfy anyone needing to carry large data files from place to place securely. There is a little overhead in entering passwords, Cloud storage (if enabled) and you do have to enter a password to access the drive the first time. Newly deposited data may take a minute or two to hit your cloud so check the tray icon or cloud storage before ejecting the drive and going about your business.
Security always comes with some overhead, if you buy a drive with enforced security it’s just part of the package and you should expect a minor learning curve.
You can depend on the Kingston DataTraveler Locker+ 3G to store and protect your data, encrypt everything uploaded to it and to provide blazing transfer speeds. It will also auto-upload your files to a Cloud if you choose that option. The drive provides a lot of protection, won’t let you get lazy about entering your password and protects your data from intruders. If you leave your computer and the drive has been accessed and you leave it plugged in it can be accessed without re-entering the password, you don’t leave the keys in your car at the convenience store, if your DataTraveler is in a office or public environment be sure to eject it and put it into your pocket as you nip out for coffee.
The DataTraveler was more than we expected providing layers of security, fast data transfer speeds and at a price that won’t leave your wallet empty.
