Thermaltake Riing 12 LED RGB LED Radiator Fans
Leave it to Thermaltake to come up with with Riing LED RGB LED Radiator fans! As enthusiasts we all want to have that eye catching machine that takes peoples breath away. We also want practical bling that serves a specific purpose and does the job we want it to do. Thermaltake hit the nail on the head with Riing 12 LED RGB LED Radiator Fans! Of course we wanted them for chassis fans to give the test rig more eye appeal instead of using them for a radiator, but we were pleasantly surprised and amused by the fans. Now when we say amused, we mean it in a good way. We got the obligatory pictures of the fans, then installed them in our X99 test bed chassis, downloaded the software and started playing with it. You get a bit jaded handling as much equipment as we do, and when a set of fans costs nearly $70, you have your game face on, ready to rip and tear into a high-priced product. Once we got around to playing with them we found ourselves laughing and enjoying the fans. The enjoyment and laughter they bring makes the price more than worth it.
Thermaltake sent us two identical packs of three fans each which is quite generous. For review purposes we will be looking at a 3-pack installed in our X99 test bed chassis. The packaging is a bit minimal, but protects the product well and is suited for a hanging card display rack.
The packaging is quite attractive and protects the product well. There is plenty of information on the package to assist the consumer in making an intelligent selection. If anything, Thermaltake shorted themselves when it comes to on-box advertising; major outlets should set up a machine with the Riing fans and watch the lines form to buy the fans.
