Power, Thermals and Noise
For our thermal testing, we ran Gaming loads rather than a power virus type of load as this represents a far more realistic loading scenario for those looking to see what you can expect when gaming on your new RTX card.
We saw Idle temps we saw on the SUPER model cards were right in line with what we would expect. The RTX 2060 SUPER tops out a couple of degrees higher than the FE model which makes sense for a GPU with more cores enabled on the same cooler. Conversely, with the RTX 2070 SUPER, we see lower temps than the FE model and this is due to the RTX 2080 full vapor chamber cooler which is a better overall solution compared to the smaller cooler it had on the FE model.
The fan noise for either of the RTX SUPER model cards simply was non-existent even under heavier loads. I will venture further to even say that even when overclocking and running looped tests for stability I did not see any abhorrent noise from either of the cards testing today.
