Final Thought & Conclusion
The MAXIMUS VIII IMPACT was a thrill ride from start to finish. From opening the box and getting punched in the eyeballs with the crisp and clean ROG styling to the final moments of crushing benchmarks. The IMPACT truly does give nothing up in terms of performance vs size and produced numbers worthy of attaining a place at the table of champions. The MAXIMUS VIII IMPACT surprised us at nearly every turn from build quality to feature implementation, this may just be the most advanced mITX motherboard on the planet. The MAXIMUS VIII IMPACT is the complete package in the mITX world and sure to cause some envy when full size builders see a micro monster putting their feature level and hardware capability to the test and probably coming out on top. Another cool feature of the IMPACT is the simple wow factor, when you show a friend your PC’s capability and then show them the size of the machine producing those results you are most likely going to be met with looks of disbelief and awe. All around the IMPACT VIII is an impressive piece of hardware.
The MAXIMUS VIII IMPACT is available at time of publishing on for just under $250 which doesn’t strike us as unreasonable considering the pedigree that comes with a ROG product. While of course there are cheaper entries into the mITX scene there are also other high end mITX motherboards that are right in the same general price bracket. Thing is, no other mITX board on the market has impressed us the way the IMPACT VIII has, so the price seems to fit nicely. Overall we have no anomalies to report, the IMPACT functioned flawlessly and went above and beyond what we expected. We reward the Bjorn3D.com Gold Award because it is pretty easy to see, in the compact world of mITX the MAXIMUS VIII IMPACT is ready to be crowned, all bow before King IMPACT VIII.
