IOGEAR Chimera M2 A Closer Look
The Chimera M2 has a very ergonomic palm grip that is comfortable to the hand and positions your hand precisely where it needs to be to actuate the 7 buttons 3 of which are macro programmable.
Up close and personal from the front the Chimera M2 shows it’s gaming heritage with the standard right and left click, scroll wheel click, two left side (right-handed non ambidextrous) thumb buttons and the DPI on the fly buttons above the scroll wheel. When you change the DPI the scroll wheel blinks once for 1000DPI, twice for 1500DPI, and 3 times for 2000 DPI which is handy to let you know what DPI you are on.
On the bottom of the Chimera M2 you see the two sensors, IR and Optical, the optical sensor has setting for power which is the 1000DPI setting, then the next notch is 1500DPI and the last notch is 2000DPI sniper mode. The second smaller switch on the left is an unlock for the power cord and not for the IR sensor. The Chimera 2 has two sensors also has two USB connectors to pull a little extra power for faster charging.
The charging stand uses the same USB cord that powers the mouse. You should note that the wire connecting to the mouse has a small lock on the bottom, slide the lock button and the cord releases easily. Plug the cord into the dock and charge the mouse and it’s 1100mAh lithium polymer rechargeable battery that provides around 10 hours steady play.
Sitting docked the Chimera two is solid on its pedestal and takes a good charge in 3 – 4 hours.
The cord to the Chimera M2 is pretty unique, one USBÂ port for normal use and if you want a faster charge plug-in the spare USB cord.
