MSI got the card out right away and its a killer. the GTX 970 Gaming 4G is overclocked to a point that it can match or best most current gen flagship models or keep it really close.
The new cooler design cools the card very well and is passive under normal desktop usage, yet when hopping in 3D and the fan spins up but even when overclocked I can say I don’t remember ever hearing the fan at all.
If you don’t like tha fact that it sits passive you can always use Afterburner to create your own user fan profile which will allow fan ramping per specs you can set including a plot chart and your own specialized fan curve.
MSI hit a home run for the gamers out there by landing a top end graphics card at the $349.99 price point which means you can double them up to get tons of performance for a little more than a top end flagship card goes for.
