Our Final Thoughts
ASUS was on a mission to ensure they were the first out the gate with X99 and they did in a big way with the X99 Deluxe. The board has features for days and lots of cool practical inclusions even myself who looks at tons of boards never really thought of.
The software compatibility is not really something ASUS can do anything about but if you look at the results from face value it can hurt the outlook on the board thats why I added such a bold disclaimer before the benchmark section as I feel it is very important to know the issues up front. There are many benchmarks where the new platform flexes its muscle but at the same time there are some where it simply doesn’t do as well.
At this time I am not ready to pass judgement on the full platform as the software simply is not ready for it.
Now to the ASUS board and its features. First things first the new look is insanely good in my opinion and vastly better than the gold of the previous gen. The features included are great starting with the 3T3R antennae design with super fast WiFi capability. The fan expansion board is great as well offering remote mount points for fan control especially for those with radiators and multiple fans. The Hyper M.2 X4 means you can now run dual M.2 SSDs for a crazy setup or even put the card in another system for instant M.2 upgrade if you use the vertically mounted slot by the 24 pin.
For the ASUS board I must recommend it as there is simply too much going for it not to, the board has tons of innovations, improvements and just overall capability going for it there is simply no way I could not award it top honors.
