For the test platform, we went with the Intel 8700K on the Asus Maximus X Formula with Corsair Vengeance running at 3200MHz CL 15. We are running a Thermaltake Triple Radiator cooling solution on the CPU to make sure we don’t get any throttling on the CPU. The operating system is Windows 10 Pro X64, with updates disabled. We make three runs at each test, then average those three runs and report the results here. If we hit a run that we consider being far away from the norm, we dismiss that result and run the 4th test. The 8700K has been delidded, and liquid metal applied to be sure we get as low of temps as possible to ensure we do not have any thermal throttling issues.

Do note that there are three 5600 XT results and this includes the initial testing listed as “RX 5600 XT”, then you will see the first step which is post-Bios flash labeled “RX 5600 XT (New VBIOS)”, and finally “RX 5600 XT (NB-Mem OC-PL Max). The “New VBios” versions are default with new VBIOS applied, whereas the “NB-Mem OC-PL Max” is the new VBios with memory set at 14,880 MHz and the power limit slider set to +20. This is to show how the card scales initially when the BIOS flash is in place and also with memory pushed to the limit we found during the initial review, which is still present in the new VBios.
