The Cronos RGB 7.1 comes with seven preset LED colors; Red, Yellow, Green, Light Blue, Deep Blue, Purple and White, as well the option to disable the lights all together. The lighting is very full, only the most hardcore of LED enthusiasts will feel unsatisfied with the brilliance of the colors. There are three modes to display the lights; Spectrum, Pulse and Static (as well as disabled, of course).

But how do they sound? Equipped with powerful 40mm neodymium magnetic drivers, the Cronos can produce 16 bit 48 kHz high-quality audio. In addition to its top-notch audio quality, the headset also comes with built in 7.1 enhanced virtual surround sound technologies, allowing for a fully immersive 3D audio experience. To top it all off, the Cronos RGB 7.1 provides just the right amount of bass, making for an excellent range of precise sounds to give you the edge you need.

Looking at the Microphone, there’s little to be said of its physical features aside from its flexible midsection, however, it is of a solid rubbery build, so it will not lock into any other position than the orientation of the section attached to the headset. The entire Microphone unit can be turned up just past the headphones (to allow for easier storage) and all the way back to about 8-o-clock (if the compact orientation is just past 12-o-clock), with many locking points in between the two extremes. In regard to the Microphones performance, it is precise and clear with minimal background noise seeping in.

Just below the microphone, we find the in-line control box. On the front of the controller, there is a button for cycling through the seven LED colors and three lighting modes, two buttons for turning the volume up or down and another button for disabling the microphone. On the side of the controller box there are two switches, one for disabling the LED lights and the other for locking the in-line control box. There is a clip attached to the back-side of the control box which allows you to hook it to your shirt or other loose material to create the desired amount of slack for the cord.

The Cronos RGB 7.1 comes with more padding in the ear cushions than the original Cronos with a thickness of 25mm. The ear cushions are constructed with soft foam and are covered in a high quality fabric to ensure the most comfortable fit possible. The headband cushioning is made of three sections made of Lycra fabric. The padding is designed to mitigate pressure on your head and making the headset all the more comfortable for extended use.
