A Closer Look

To start things out we will let you watch the product video on the new Enermax D.F. Pressure fans.

The short video does a good job of explaining how these new fans operate and how they can find a home in your rig and keep it dust free. Before now, fans spun in one direction and this would cause dust buildup. We have all had to take the time to clean out dust filters on modern cases or remove our radiators to clean the dust buildup in the cooling fins. These new fans solve that issue in a unique way that makes us wonder why no company has implemented this before!

The several fans that Enermax sent us were in nice sturdy boxes that sported Enermax’s white and red livery which on a store shelf would offer a nice contrast to the other boxes that grab your attention.   
Included in the packaging with the fan we found two sets of interchangeable rubber isolation pads that allow users to change the ones on their fans to red or white. While not a huge thing, we found this was a nice touch that allows users to customize the look of the fans to fit their cases and/or hardware.

Testing

Testing of fans might sound like an oxymoron since you would think that you simply plug the fan into the PWM header on your board and it works or doesn’t. However the fan speed switch allows you to select the speed you desire even though we would just have it set to the highest range and let the system throttle the speed based on the CPU temperatures.

One key phase of testing with these fans was observing the effects of the reverse flow that occurs during the first 10 seconds. We were able to observe these effects after a month. Not only was the surface of the radiator clean of any dust but the leading edges of the fan blades were also clean of the buildup that typically occurs.
Even on the highest speed, the noise of the fans was not noticeable over the rest of the system, which is important since we all want a reasonably quiet system that still keeps our components cool. These fans truly deliver on this and keep dust filters and radiators clean of dust.
