Final Thoughts & Conclusion
The VisionTek 800W 80 Plus Bronze Modular Power Supply performed well in all our testing.  We broke out the 4870 triple X-Fire we only use for testing power supplies and ran them until you could cook a grilled cheese on the cowlings. You would be hard pressed to load a power supply and heavier than we loaded the VisionTek 800W 80 Plus Bronze Modular Power Supply. With the test rig overclocked to 4.5 GHz and almost every peripheral we could find plugged in, multiple hard drives, triple X-Fire with power-hungry 4870’s and the VisionTek 800w 80 Plus Bronze Modular Power Supply handled it all. At one point the KillAWatt power meter read 815w pulled from the wall. Power regulation ran between 1 and 3% off nominal with noise running at 36dBA and exhaust temps that never went over 55°C.
A lot of people think that the heart of their dream machine is the CPU or Video Card but the life’s blood that pumps through it all is power, nice clean stable power. Without clean stable power what you have is a disaster waiting to happen and hundreds if not thousands of dollars of hardware depending on your choice of power supplies. Make your choice of power supplies a good one and pick the VisionTek 800W 80 Plus Bronze Modular Power Supply for $99.99 (VisionTek parent website) and rest easy while scoring those frags.
