OCZ launched the new Z-Drive 4500 for the enterprise market. The Z-Drive 4500 is a PCI Express SSD that delivers higher performance compare to the OCZ’s Z-Drive R4 Series as it leverages 19 nm MLC NAND flash and the LSI SandForce SF-2582 controller. The drive has a rated maximum read of 2,9000 MB/s, maximum write up to 2,200 MB/s, sustained 4K random read of 252K IOPS, sustained 4K random write of 76K IOPS, sustained 8K random read of 155K IOPS, and sustained 8K random writes of 31K IOPS.
The drives come with many data protection features that are critical to the enterprise environment such as critical power loss data protection, end-to-end data path protection, 128-bit AES encryption, temperature sensing and thermal throttling. In addition, a newly designed casing aimed to provide better thermal efficiency.
The drive comes in 800GB, 1.6TB, and 3.2TB storage capacity. They will come with OCZ’s new Windows Accelerator (WXL) Software that offers a flash management and caching solution for Windows Server applications. All drives are backed with a 5 year warranty.
