Gigabyte Brings BRIX Pro with Intel Iris Pro Graphics

GIGABYTE shows off their latest addition to the BRIX family–the GIGABYTE BRIX Pro. If you recall, the BRIX is GIGABYTE’s ultra compact DIY PC Kit. The latest addition is equipped with the latest forth generation (Haswell) Intel Core i7 4770R processor that features Intel Iris Pro graphics 5200.

The new models will come in two colors: black or red. Users would have the option to chooose either the Intel Core i7 4770R or Intel Core i5 4570R. The Core i7 4770R clocked at 3.2GHz (3.9GHz Turbo) and comes with 6MB of cache while the Core i5 is clocked at 2.7GHz (3.2GHz Turbo) with 4MB of cache. Both CPUs are quad core model and support Intel Iris Pro 5200 but the Core i7 GPU has maximum dynamic frequency up to 1.3GHz as oppose to 1.15GHz on the Core i5.  In addition to the clock difference and the amount of the cache, the Core i7 also supports hyperthreading.

The system will equip with a 802.11 b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi Mini PCIe module, power adapter and cable. Up to two SO-DIMM DDR3L slots are available for expansion and it will support both mSATA SSD and standard 2.5” SSD. For ports, the BRIX Pro features single HDMI, mini DisplayPort, a Gigabit Ethernet port, four USB 3.0 ports (two on the front and two on the rear), and 3.5” audio port. It is compatible with VESA mount and the system will bundle with the VESA bracket so you can mount it on the rear of the TV.
