Cooler Master HAF 700

While the Cooler Master HAF 700 EVO launched a few month ago was arguably the best case that offer excellent performance with unique innovation for its front glass LED stripe and the LCD display, its price tag is simply out of reach for most people. The HAF 700 is a much welcome addition to the Cooler Master line up with its much more affordable $299 price tag.  While Cooler Master had to make a few adjustment to cut down the price, we are glad that all of the essentials remain intact on the HAF 700.  In fact, I will go as far as saying that the HAF 700 is essentially the HAF 700 EVO minus the LCD display and the glass front panel. The build quality is still excellent and all of the innovations and designs that it found on the HAF 700 EVO are kept: the ample interior space, ease of use, versatility, and excellent performance. There are many features on the HAF 700 that I really enjoy such as the expansion slot lock, raised motherboard tray, cable covers, and much more. I truly hope that some of them will tickled down to other models on the Cooler Master line up such as the HAF 500 series.

The HAF 700 is a great package. The case is an excellent choice for enthusiasts out there that want the best of the best. There is plenty of space to accommodate top of line components and offer excellent cooling performance. Everything is well thought of and best of all it is priced reasonably competitive. In fact, if you are eyeing the HAF 700 EVO case but just could not swallow the 700 price tag, the HAF 700 is just the case that you want to get. The chassis easily earn out coveted Golden Bear Award.

The Steam Deck – Valve delivers an excellent PC handheld

Valve is an interesting company that seems to try to be a lot of things at the same time. Games company, software hub/store and hardware company. Valve is all of these. When it comes to hardware the company has had mixed success. I think many of us remember the Steam Machines. These compact computers running SteamOS, a Linux based OS, were supposed to make Windows PC’s obsolete for gaming. They didn’t succeed. Valve also released a specific controller, the Steam Controller, which also did not exactly set the world on fire. In hindsight though both these products have paved the way for the product I am testing today, the Steam Deck, Valves attempt to compete with the Nintendo Switch in the handheld market.
