Final Thoughts and Conclusion
We were pleasantly surprised by the overall performance of the Enermax Liqtech 240, and most of all, its overall low noise level. In most of the all-in-one (AIO) systems we have tested, the noise levels were higher because of the fan design in order to achieve lower overall temperatures. With the Liqtech 240, the fans that Enermax paired with the AIO enabled them to achieve low temperatures and low overall noise. At times we found the system so indistinguishable from the case fans and the PSU that we looked to make sure the fans were functioning.
Now while many other units feature a sophisticated software interface that allows users to monitor temps and fan speeds and change fan and pump profiles, Enermax decided to go with the simpler approach. This requires the user to do little more than just install the system and let it do its thing. This is done with no detriment to thermal performance that we were able to notice, and it keeps noise down. It still does mean that it lacks some of the flexibility you get with other solutions in setting up your own fan profile.
The Enermax Liqtech 240 can be found on for $135, a low price for the performance that we achieved with this unit. Also because of its low acoustics, we highly recommend this cooler and as such, we give it our Silver Bear award for its top notch thermal performance and nearly silent operation.
