Samsung announced the Portable SSD T3 that packs 2TB of storage onto your palm. The SSD T3 is the successor to the last year’s SSD T1 drive that uses the same technologies such as TurboWrite and 3D V-NAND found on the 850 Evo drive.
The SSD T3 is quite impressive as it light and compact with size smaller than average business card and weighs at mere 51 grams. The metal shock-resistant case and internal frame helps to protect the unit against drops. It is also packed with the latest USB 3.1 Type-C interface, allowing sequential transfer speed of up to 450 MB/s. The drive also supports AES 256-bit hardware encryption and supports optional password setting.
The SSD T3 comes in storage capacity of 250GB, 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB. It will be available in February in the US, China, Korean, and selected European countries with global availability later in the year.
