Welcome to the Bjorn3D Christmas Extravaganza Contest!

Yes it’s that time of year again and we have rounded up a ton of high end hardware to make your holiday season a little merrier.

We’ll get to some pictures and links in a little bit but here’s a breakdown of what’s up for grabs.

Again all you should need is an optical drive and you are good to go. Now our generous Editor/Review Manager Methious has dipped into his pile of hardware and provided the Athlon 2 X3 435 CPU, 4850 ATI GPU and Seventeem 850W PSU and here’s what he had to say about his prizes.

I reviewed the two GPU’s, the Athlon 2 X3 435 CPU, and the Seventeem 850W PSU and put them back in the boxes just for this contest. So they have been reviewed but not used for day to day operation. Just my way of giving back a little to the community that means so much to me and Bjorn3D!

Go figure it turns out he’s not a heartless hardware slayer after all.

As many of you know Scott is the owner of Bjorn3D and has been a passionate folder for Stanford University for years. In the past year his Daughter has had a bout with Hodgkins Stage IVB Cancer and to honor him and his daughter Stephanie we are including a “Folding for Stephanie” sub-contest.

These prizes will only be available to those that fold for Stephanie during the month of December.

Rules for the folding portion only

1. Must have a USA/Canada Shipping Address

2. Must Fold for Bjorn3D Folding Team 41608

3. Must use your forum name with a -Stephanie in it.

4. Must make at least 5 post in the Bjorn3D forums in December. Each post must have “Folding for Steph” at the end of the post.

Now to the brass tacks of things. We did a notification thread for the contest and there was some grumbling about folding for contests. I (Methious) have no tolerance for bickering about contests. Starting today, (Nov 28th 2009) and running through the end of the contest, if you complain about this contest, any portion of it, you will be excluded from the entire contest. PERIOD.

That’s just the way it is so complain if you want and I’ll yank your name out of the hat so fast your head will spin. If I hear complaining about that rule I will exclude you from contests for my entire time at Bjorn3D. So let’s have a little more HoHoHo and a little less NoNoNo.

CONTEST RULES

These rules apply to the entire contest with the exception of the Folding Portion. The Folding portion is completely separate and has nothing to do with these rules and does not affect the overall contest in any way. In other words Folding won’t increase or decrease your chances of winning the non-Folding portion.

Forum Thread where you need to go to submit entries

1. Follow the link to the Forum Thread and complete this sentance:

“I’m so entering the Bjorn3D Christmas Extravaganza contest because Bjorn3D __________ and this contest ___________.” (Christmas themed answer)

This lets us know you are entered. If you are entering the Folding portion just mention that you are folding for Steph and the name you use for folding.

2. For one entry: Have 20 forum posts at the end on January

3. For one entry: Advertise the contest on another forum. Link to the contest page, and forum thread required: Post this. text:

“Bjorn3D Christmas Extravaganza Contest: Two Grand Prize AMD Dragon platform Computers and an assortment of smaller prizes.”

4. We have an international Sapphire contest this month for our international readers so feel free to enter that. Please note that whining about shipping areas will get you excluded from both contests, we are entirely serious about contest whining.

5 Winners notified by Private message. Winners assume responsibility for any applicable taxes.

6. Winners by random drawing from eligible entrants, winners are final and have 7 days to respond or the prize will be given to another qualified entrant.

7. Contest ends January 31st.

So you can earn up to 2 entries into the contest, you may only enter by each method once. Multiple entries by the same method are not allowed. One entry per household per method. That’s the internet way of saying if we catch you entering from the same IP address we’ll zap you out of the contest.

We expect more prizes to trickle in as the contest continues, some prizes are shipped from the vendors and some from the Editor/Review manager Methious. Prizes shipped from the vendors: We have contacted the vendors and they have agreed to supply the prizes, we can not be held responsible for Vendor shipped prizes. We will provide tracking numbers to the winners for the prizes we ship, but we can not be held responsible for damage durinng shipping.

We reserve the right to substitute components in the case of component failure during assembly. We are assemblng the two Grand prizes and if components aren’t compatible or functional we reserve the right to make changes. Say if a ram kit is faulty, we substitute a ram kit. Faulty parts happen. This is our way of ensuring that you recieve a fully functional System.
