Overclocking
HIS includes software (iTurbo) that allows you to overclock your card further either with the push of a button or more advanced settings. Since we usually use MSI Afterburner for overclocking we continued using it also for this card.
Best core clock | 1200 MHz (14% overclock over the already o/c-ed core clock |
Best memory clock | 6400 MHz (7% overclock) |
3DMark 2013 Firestrike Extreme | 4187 (10% overclock) |
Remember that there is no guarantee that all cards can overclock this far. The beauty with a factory overclocked card is that at least you know it will run at 1050 MHz without any problems.
Temperatures and Noise
One of the features of the IceQ X2-cooler is to keep the card cool even at the most demanding games. We ran both 3Dmark 2013 Firestrike Extreme as well as Metro:Last Light and measured the temperature of the GPU with MSI Afterburner.
Temperature | %-fan speed | |
Idle | 29C | 20 % |
3DMark 2013 Firestrike Extreme | 59C | 30 % |
Metro:Last Light | 62C | 32 % |
What is impressive is that the fan never spins up more than around 30% even when we put the GPU under heavy load. We could not hear the fan over the rest of the system below 40% fan speed.
